Sikorsky is launching an all new light weight tactical helicopter for US evaluation and they’ve selected LORD Corporation in Dayton, Ohio to help build two prototypes of it. LORD will be building the elastomeric bearings and an Active Vibration Control System for this new light weight chopper.
At 230 mph, this new helicopter will fly twice as fast as traditional helicopters. It’s capable of holding six passengers and two pilots. The first prototype is scheduled to be ready to fly in 2013. You can read more about it here.
