Reichold and Umicore have announced they plan to team up and work together on introducing a sustainable alternative curing technology for unsaturated polyester resins.
This new products combines the benefits of existing cobalt systems with new sustainable, environmentally friendly properties.
Reichhold is using Umicore’s newest cobalt technology to create a user friendly alternative to accelerators currently be used by composite manufacturers. This will offer customers a solution to the problem of dealing with hazard classifications of cobalt carboxylate.
These companies that have already tested this technology in some resins for specific applications and will be working on creating and qualifying an entire new product for composite fabricators.
