[app_audio src=”http://traffic.libsyn.com/compositesweeklypodcast/interviewwithGFS.mp3″] This week, I welcome Dr. Karl Englund of Global Fiberglass Solutions. GFS is a composite fiberglass recycling and green manufacturing firm that specializes in recycling thermoset composite fiberglass waste, and using this material to manufacture new products.

They provide industrial fiberglass waste recycling services to industries worldwide, including the wind energy, aerospace, maritime and manufacturing sectors.

GFS’s products are made entirely from fiberglass waste. GFS products include manufacturing-grade fibers and pellets, construction materials and more. Their corporate headquarters is located at Highlands Campus Tech Centre in Bothell, Washington, USA, and they have two processing and manufacturing plants, in Sweetwater, Texas and in Newton, Iowa.

On today’s episode, we’ll be discussing the history of GFS, along with the primary FRP industries they serve. We’ll also be discussing their product line which comes from recycled scrap.

This includes manufacturing-grade fibers, thermoplastic manufacturing pellets, construction panels, and a concrete substitute.
