Interview with Current Inc. – One of the Few Electrical Grade Laminate Manufacturers Still Operating in the US

Play episode

This week Meredith Glasgow of Current Inc. joins me on the show to discuss their company’s story. They’re a leading manufacturer of laminated plastics & thermoset composite materials.

Current has been a family-owned and operated business since 1962 serving industries such as aerospace, automotive, electrical, marine, oil & gas, and sports.

They specialize in industrial laminates and copper-clad laminates. Their copper-clad laminates are applicable to circuit board assemblies and can withstand high pressures and high temperatures.

The facility in Warren, OH manufactures these highly specialized copper-clad laminates and is one of the few electrical grade laminate manufacturers to still operate and maintain a manufacturing facility in the U.S.

Their G-10 product is a thermosetting industrial laminated plastic consisting of a woven glass cloth material and an epoxy resin matrix. You can see some of the beautiful knife handles designed with G-10 at this year’s Blade Show.
