The new Lamborghini, introduced this week at the Geneva 2012 Motor Show, is sporting some new composite technology . The new Aventador J features seats that are made of forged composite, and have inserts of flexible carbon fiber fabrics.
This new fabric, called Carbonskin is made of woven carbon fibers that have been soaked in a spacial epoxy resin that helps to stabilize the fiber structure while also keeping it soft. This new material can be found in most of the cockpit and parts of the seats of the Aventador J.
Some other new composites features that you’ll find on the Aventador J include:
- The aluminum wheels contain a central lock system and new carbon fiber insert that works like a small fan for brake ventilation.
- The engine cover is made of a carbon fiber frame. It has two openings for the cylinder banks of the V-12 power unit.
- The front end features a carbon fiber air scoop with central central fixing braces and upward tilting winglets on the edges. From a side view, the front of the Aventador J looks can look similar to a Formula 1 race car.
